After Winter Break, Mrs. Toft gave the students a goal to advance their "star count" in the library from 100 to 200 stars.
Stars are acquired by being responsible, ready and respectful Mavericks, and also by displaying their Leader-In-Me habits with ease, writing their own stories, completing their Reading Rainbow charts, getting Star Reader of the Month, and helping their peers with caring guidance in the library and elsewhere.
Little did Mrs. Toft know that her students were going to do as Mavericks do and completely surprise her by going above beyond, acquiring over 300 hundred stars!
THREE HUNDRED!!!
As a reward for this achievement, ALL Mavericks were each gifted a brand-new Scholastic book!
