EXCITING NEWS! Iowa Author, Coach Sloth, is visiting our school on January 13! His presentation will take your child on a journey filled with magic, humor and student interaction to:
EDUCATE - Learn the book writing process, importance of reading and value of hard work.
ENTERTAIN - Students participate in a skit with an Anti-Bullying message.
INSPIRE - Kids will write their own stories in hopes of becoming a World Famous Author someday!
So who is Coach Sloth?
Growing up in Dike and Belmond, Iowa, Coach Sloth played all sports, but loved football. As starting cornerback in 2000, he helped lead the Iowa State Cyclones to a victory in the Insight Bowl. Coach Sloth spent 10 seasons playing and coaching arena football with the Iowa Barnstormers and 5 other teams. He was also a football player in 5 movies: We Are Marshall, Leatherheads, Touchback, Amazing Spiderman, and The Dark Knight Rises. Coach Sloth lives in Huxley, Iowa with his wife and their 6 kids.
We are excited for Coach Sloth to visit on Thursday. The teachers have been reading his books and if they haven't yet, they will be sending home an order form so you can purchase his books if you would like. They can even be autographed while he is here! If you have not received an order form yet or need another one, please let the school know and we will get one to you.
