This week in STEM we created balloon rockets for Santa's sleigh! We discovered how different sized balloons made some rockets go further or faster. We enjoyed trying to calculate how fast the balloons a.k.a. "sleds" were going to fly and discussed how we could potentially make changes for a better flight. SO FUN!

We had a packed music room that felt so full of love and Christmas cheer last night! Our students, (and staff that helped make this magic happen,) truly put together a beautiful show. We can't stop posting about it!

Last night's "WE LOVE CHRISTMAS" concert was an absolute treat! We are beyond proud of our Mavericks! What a warm, festive, fun and bright way to bring in this beautiful season!

What fun we had helping out at the Everly Festival of Trees tonight! Our Mavericks make us proud!

It is a Friday during a full moon week and boy do the kiddos (and staff) feel it! Aside from goofy exhaustion, we are also filled with pure joy as the first day of December has arrived! Our Library story-time needed the addition of a dance party to end our day getting our wiggles out and enjoying our time with one another. They dipped, spun, and waltzed their way around the library with smiles from ear to ear. Thank you for the fun week and have the best weekend, Mavericks!

Our Mavericks learned all about cold weather and how snowflakes are created in STEM class today. They made beautiful snowflakes of their own and were surprised at how unique and fun each snowflake creation was!

Our preschoolers have been hard at work being respectful, ready and responsible Mavericks! In fact, they've done such a great job that they earned themselves an ice cream incentive and extra play time today! WAY TO GO, PRESCHOOLERS!

Our Whoville-esque tree is a whimisical cutie! We hope you will stop by the Everly Festival of Trees Friday night (5-7:30) to eat their delicious supper, buy some of the Clay County Countrymen's delicious baked goods, visit Santa, and enjoy the beautiful trees on display! We will have Mavericks there to bus tables and enjoy the evening alongside you. See you there!

The 5th and 6th graders enjoyed making gingerbread houses yesterday!

Our 4th graders have been working hard on the Leader in Me habits! We love this new hallway display they created!

Our students were hard at work this morning creating beautiful, handmade ornaments for our CCE tree that will be displayed at the upcoming Everly and Royal Festival of Trees! Check them out in person at Everly's Festival of Trees this Friday from 5-7:30 at Hap Ketelsen Community Center AND next week at Royal's Festival of Trees on December 9th from 10-1 at The Great Hall of Royal! We have so many amazing events in our communities that our students love to take part in!

We are truly blessed with some amazingly responsible and respectful Maverick leaders here at CCE!
Shown here is our Kindergarten friend, Alexzander, leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Every morning, Alexzander comes into the office, walks to the intercom, pushes the button himself and announces "Good morning, Mavericks. Please stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance with your class."
He then turns and joins whatever staff is in the office in reciting it together.
Our Mavericks are amazing leaders that we are so proud of!

During tummy time today the preschoolers drew what they were thankful for.
What are some things that you are thankful for this season?
We are thankful for our precious students and each of you!

Our STEM project this week was the Pringle Ring Challenge. Gravity and friction played major roles in this project. Students focused on building a solid base and the pattern in which the Pringles would be stacked to make the best ring. They worked hard, but only a few succeeded in completing this fun challenge! STEM can be SO fun!
