When we think of the many things and people that we are grateful for at CCE, one of the first who comes to mind is none other than our wonderful school principal, Mrs. Huntress.
National School Principal Day is a perfect day to highlight the vast array of ways that Mrs. Huntress is THE best!
--> She is kind, compassionate, and considerate. Truly, she makes a difference just by being her.
--> She is motivated and meticulous, gentle yet strong. She promotes our Mavericks to be their best selves and carry out their Maverick days with sincere effort and passion.
--> She truly cares about her students, their families, and the staff/family that is CCE. Having someone at the helm who is genuine makes all the difference.
--> She goes above and beyond. Before, during, and after school, rest assured that Mrs. Huntress is thinking of ways to make our days better at CCE. She never stops!
--> She is a breath of fresh air. She makes our days at CCE so much better by leading with grace, the best work ethic, and the most positive reinforcement possible.
--> She is innovative and a dreamer. CCE's new furniture, paint, state-of-the-art security equipment, gym equipment, curricula, new playground equipment, fun events, etc., are due to Mrs. Huntress' desire to make CCE the best school possible. And that's just a few of the fantastic things she has done for our district!
We could go on and on about this amazing principal of ours, but we will rein it in and end by saying the sincerest "THANK YOU!!!" to her.

Today's K-6 Scharnberg Park field trip was perfection!
We enjoyed gorgeous weather for each of our fun and educational stations, all put together by the best naturalists around, Clay County's Bri Blom and O'Brien County's Lindsey Kleinhesselink!
--> We learned all about beavers and what makes them so uniquely equipped to assist in keeping our water clean.
--> About how pollinators are attracted to plants by color, smell, and the time of day that the plants are open, which determines their pollination patterns, which are all so different!
--> We enjoyed learning how to properly fish, including baiting the hook, casting, and patience, catching numerous species of fish on the shore and dock (an obvious fan favorite station!)
--> We then wrapped up the day with canoeing around the gorgeous pond, enjoying the sights of bull frogs, turtles of all sizes, fish, herons, and more!
We would like to give a grateful "Maverick Shout Out!" to Bri and Lindsey for making today such a beautiful learning experience for our Mavericks! We can't thank you enough for sharing your wealth of information, positive attitudes, and eagerness to play in nature with us! We are grateful to you for all you do!
