Tonight’s CCE Spring Fling Concert was truly a delight!
The children did such a beautiful job singing, performing in the band and honoring Ms. Bunge, as this is her last concert at CCE due to her retirement at the end of the school year.
We are so proud of our Mavericks and thankful for all Ms. Bunge has done to encourage and teach music to our students!
Their hard work paid off in tonight’s wonderful concert!

Last week, we had our Clay County Sheriff's Department friends stop over to do a "Safety Talks" presentation with our Mavericks.
Topics highlighted were:
Bicycle Safety: Wear your helmet at all times, obey traffic laws, and use hand signals.
Fire Safety: Close your door when you sleep, check your door to see if the fire is outside your door before opening it, talk to your parents about your exit plan and where to go, and regularly check your smoke detectors.
Stranger Danger/People at Your Door: Always have your doors locked and know that you do not have to answer the door if it is someone you don't know or are unsure of and always tell a teacher or an adult before answering the door or talking to someone you don't know.
Seatbelts: WEAR THEM!
Medication: Only take the medicine that has been prescribed to you and only take what your parents/guardians give to you. Do not take anyone else's medications.
Online Safety: Don't play with people that you don't know, or your parents don't approve. Don't tell anyone online your personal information. Don't send anything that you wouldn't want your mom or dad to see. Everything that is on your phone, computer, or tablet (such as apps, texts, emails, etc.) can be retrieved and easily made accessible even after being deleted.
We are grateful to our friends at the Clay County Sheriff's Department for all they do to keep our Mavericks informed, safe, and ready!

Happy Librarian Appreciation Day! We are so very thankful for Mrs. Toft and the many hats she wears at CCE!

Clay Central Everly received a wonderful gift from the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation through Iowa Select Farms last week. The donation came in the form of a brand-new bilingual book cart for our Mavericks!
The foundation's program, Henry's Heroes, changes annually to support the needs of Iowa's children. This year, the program put together 100 bilingual book carts with over 75 books in each (half in English and half in Spanish). The carts were distributed to schools near Iowa Select Farms, where their employees live and work.
Clay Central Everly would like to thank Iowa Select Farms, the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation, and Henry's Heroes for making this donation to our CCE library possible. What a wonderful gift for our Mavericks!

This week's session of K-2 Mavericks Create Club offered students the opportunity to paint still life. Our budding artists perfectly captured the beauty of spring tulips on miniature canvases. They also put the finishing touches on their pottery from last week. Nice job, Mavs!
